The sky was darkened with the smoke from the Horseshoe Fire. Driving home through Benson I could not see the Dragoon Mountains. The cashier at Wal-Mart said that when she was outside on her break (about 1630 hour) she had tiny flakes of ash landing on her. The fire is more than thirty miles from Benson. When I got home and I looked outside from the deck I could barely see the goats. After diner the sky cleared and we could again see the power plant and the Playa.
Is that the big fire that's in the news or one of the smaller fires? We've had a few like that around here in the last couple years. The soot and ash can be really bad for the lungs. I'm glad your skies cleared fairly soon.
